Mammootty and Adoor Gopalakrishnan reunite for Padayaatra on December 4

Mammootty’s next release, Padayaatra, is set to arrive in theatres on December 4. The film reunites him with Adoor Gopalakrishnan after 32 years, a pairing that gives the project considerable historical weight.

Adoor’s films have long been central to the international reputation of Malayalam cinema, and Mammootty has been part of some of his most studied work. A new collaboration after three decades is being treated as an event in itself.

The makers have kept details of the story under wraps so far. The December date places Padayaatra in a crowded festive corridor, alongside several other high-profile Malayalam titles.
